Hey Scholars
This week I would like you to talk about your top three values. If you don't know what a "value" is, look it up. Tell you peers what those values are and WHY you feel so strongly about them. Our values define and determine how we react and interact in the world...so be thoughtful.
I NEED YOU TO ALSO TELL ME WHERE YOU ARE IN YOUR FAMILY IN TERMS OF BIRTH ORDER. That means, oldest, middle, youngest or only. I know a lot of you have step siblings, cousins etc. so think about how your family home was when you were growing up...who was in the house and were you oldest, middle, youngest or only in terms of how you were raised.
See you Wednesday! Have a great weekend!!
I value education. This is something that has always been enforced by my family and since my parents never got the chance to get their education, I find incentive to not waste the chance I have to get mine. I value honesty. I don't really care if what a person has to say is kind or not. I put more emphasis and value on giving an honest comment or response over something that's sugarcoated. I value friendship. This is something that has influenced my life greatly in the last few years and I can honestly say that sometimes the friendships I have, hold are stronger bond than some of the family bonds I hold.
ReplyDeleteI am the middle child. With an older brother and a younger sister which are both 7 years apart.
I believe my values can vary depending on the situation. However three main values that I have constantly kept are: trust is earned, family is important, and always try to be positive about life no matter what. I believe that trust is essential in any type of relationship. Over my expierence in my life I've learned to value when people trust me. Family to be is essential in my life. I was brought up with the idea, family is always first so now that is constantly brought up amongst my cousins. The last value I have is to be positive or optimistic about life. Our life is so short and we don't realize how fast time passes by that we forget to stay positive. Although times will get hard and we will want to give up, positivity is always key in my life.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I am the second oldest amongst my siblings, I feel like I am treated like the oldest. I have an older brother however he hasn't been as involved in my family like I have. So I would like to say that I am the oldest.
I believe my top three values are honest, respectful, and word promising person. Honest with people, family, friends, because that's what make me true is to always say the truth no matter how hard it was. I value respect to others to respect me. I think respect is important because people would tread you as you tread them, Also, I've been raised in respectful culture. I keep my promises to others, if i say something I will do it no matter what it takes. Those values made who I am today.
ReplyDeleteI am the oldest and the only girl in my family, but I also have three brothers who are younger than me. My family tread me as a grown person who can take responsibility.
My top three top values in life are Honesty, Respect, and Independence
ReplyDeleteHonesty - First of all, honesty is the foundation upon which a person builds any relationship with his loved ones such as family or friends. I don't want to be with somebody whom I know will lie through their teeth to me.
Respect - Can you imagine a world without respect? Respect others you will be respected back and be remembered as a respectful person. Respect others you will be respected back and be remembered as a respectful person. I believe respect is another way of being nice and helpful. If someone asked for help, do so with a smile. Because that could be you asking for help and you’re going to want respect. I’ve learned that if you do things for others out of respect they will be there when you need it. One thing i hate is lying I can't be respected by somebody who is constantly lying to me.
Independence - I’ve always believed in being independent. Although when I was a child, I didn’t always know what independence was. I use to be a loner. Since I am the only boy in my family I considered being the one who could always “take care of himself”.
My family consisted my nine sisters and myself.
My top there values are honestly, loyalty and commitment. I like to be very honest with people so that they can be honest with me. I believe that lying is a sin so not being honest is also a sin. This value has made me very strong in that I can say the truth to someone and expect them to believe me. I haven't suffered with people when it comes to believe me because they notice I'm very honest. I also value honest feedbacks from people and that helps me incorporate their feedbacks in my life. I value loyalty! I am a very loyal person. I'm loyal to the people I love and those who love me back. I will never betray my love one neither will I betray a trust. Therefore, when people are not loyal to me, it hurts so bad. Loyalty is the most important thing to me when it comes to relationships. Lastly, I value commitment. I'm a very committed person. When I comitt to something, it becomes a core part of my life. I also like to respect people's commitment. I do not try to interfere with beliefs of interupt someone's commitment. These are my there values.

DeleteI am also the middle child in my family.
DeleteMy top 3 values are Gym, Family, Religion
ReplyDeleteI love all three of these things nothing makes me more happier then when I am with my family because they will always have my back and ice learned a lot from them. The Gym keeps me focused on whatever I do and I love being healthy. Religion keeps me on the right path.
I'm the Eldest I guess
My top three values are family, education and religion. The happiest time I have had is spending time with my family. My parents taught me how important education was when I was still little. It is not only about getting a good job to make lots of money, but it is also about improving knowledge and skills that will stay with me forever. As a Catholic, I feel peaceful and positive when I praise to God whenever I struggle with something in my life.
ReplyDeleteI have one brother, one sister, and I am the youngest one.
My believe my top three values are: family, education and faith. My family are always influence me. My parents always encourage me get highest level of education. They encourage my passion to be a nurse that helps people who are in need. I had never worry about anything in my life and anything can't take me down. I have a faith in God and I believe he is always with me no matter what saturation I'm in. Thank God for all this opportunities.
ReplyDeleteI have four siblings and I'm the oldest. I'm blessed to have my three little sisters 😊
My top three values that in which has helped me define the type of person I am is; you get out what you put in, always be respectful, and always stay optimistic. With everything that I do, I try to put 100% effort in order to feel more satisfaction. I learned this while training for cross country and track because sometimes I would not get the results I had hoped for. I was not putting enough effort into this sport which caused me to feel less satisfied. Now, if i put 100% effort and the outcome is not to my liking, I am more satisfied because I know I did everything that I could have done. Being respectful for me does not simply mean treat others the way you would want to be treated, but also respecting oneself. Being aware that we are all different and accepting who we really are is the first steps. If you cannot first respect yourself, then how else will you respect other people? Lastly, I always try to stay positive no matter the situation. I always think that, "it could have been worse" or trying to see the positive side of the issue. These are the values that basically define me.
ReplyDeleteMy first value is love unconditionally (I know I’m still working on it). Most of the world’s problems could be solved if we interacted and responded from a place of love. People act differently when their feel that their love requirement is fulfilled. My second is if you’re going to do something might as well do it right. This is a hard one for me to learn. As a kid I would do things half-a** and I would have to do them twice and it would take me more time then if I did it right the first time. I’m still learning this one. This isn’t really a value but a motto; I even have it tattooed on me. “It’s Only Awkward If You Make It” This is a motto that developed in high school, but for it to truly work for you… You have to believe it. It’s possible that it is psychological. Last but not least is you have to make the most out of every situation or opportunity. This one is really important to me because tomorrow isn’t promised today. What is a better time then now to do the things you know you can achieve? I can’t put it off until tomorrow. I am the only child from my mother. So that experience has definitely affected the way that I see the world. When I was in sixth grade until the end of seventh grade I lived with my cuz and she is like a big sister to me. Shoot she changed my pampers when I was a baby. Her daughter is 3 years younger to me. Bree Bree ahahah that is my little cuz but it’s my little sister. That and she have a younger sister and brother. So even though I was an only child I have younger siblings that make it feel like I’m the big brother. Now I have more brothers and sisters with price. I truly love you guys!!
ReplyDeleteMy top three values are family, education and respect. I think these three values represent me strongly because my family is where I can stop by at any time to get supported, compassion, love and strength to keep going in life. No matter what I need, my family is always by my side to support me from the little thing to everything that they are capable of. My parents thought me how to value education and I really appreciate it myself as I am going to school and gaining more knowledge. I believe education is the key to success; therefore, I appreciate every opportunity that I have to go to school and do well in all the classes; with the hope of becoming successful in the future. Finally, I think respect is also important to me because I always try to treat people with respect; therefore I hope that I can gain their respect from the way I treat them and also the respect from other in the future when my academic journey is blossomed.
ReplyDeleteMy top 3 values are Family, Respect and Faith. Family is my 1st and most important value. Since I was a child I have been very close to my family and know that I can always count on then for many things. I know we have been through our ups and downs as a family, but we stick together no matter what. Respect I know is something you have to give so it can be given back to you. I've always treated people with the respect they deserve and expect the same towards me. I always stay strong in my faith, especially in times of need and tough situations. I always have faith and stay very positive that things will work out and everything will be alright in the end. I was the firstborn by 7 years. I have one younger sister and no step siblings. I have faith that I do things right and set a good example for my younger sister who's only in middle school. She looks up to me the most and it is a rewarding feeling knowing you're doing things right.
