OK, so, in an effort to consolidate what we are working in, please spend a few minutes telling each other about your current career goals, hopes and ideal job. What are the most important aspects of a life long career for YOU. If you could do anything, what would it be?? And, right now, what do you see standing in your way?
As many of you know I am majoring in electrical engineering. It wasn't until last spring that I realized that I want to go and obtain my phd. I've wanted to go into alternative energy since I was in highschool. As i complete my journey I am more motivated then ever. I eventually want to study physics or Mathematics in gradschool. If i go the physics route either high energy systems or I will study quatum mechanics. I want to go into this field becuase I love electronics but also I want to make a difference. I really want to study how to make electrohydrolysis more efficient and modify it to work with non drinkable water. The cool part about this renewable energy is its runs on distilled water and uses electricity to break apart the water molecules to obtain the hydrogen. Once it has the hydrogen it uses it to fuel the generator and everntually creates pure water again. It is a fascinating process but imagine the lives we can change if we use it around the world to process water that would otherwise be undrinkable. yea thats my speel , I want to own my own company and help others gain the necessities they need to survive.
ReplyDeletethe necessities for me would be the ability to work on projects I created from an idea and pursue where it might take me. I want to help others but most of all I want to make a difference in a world that seems to care less and less as time goes on. Some of my obsticles that hindering me right now is the lack of technical knowledge and hands on experience. One day I will do it, and nothing can stop me. Another thing standing in my way is the fact that sdccd is refusing to allow me to graduate and obtain and associates but other then that im good.
ReplyDeleteI my current career goals are to graduate from City College and transfer to a university and become a kindergarten teacher. The important aspects for my career would be that I enjoy working and look forward to go to work everyday. And to teach young children about respect at a young age and also how to be kind to one another because there are so many kids now a days that are disrespectful. There isn't anything stopping me besides that fact that I'm not a teacher yet.
ReplyDeleteWell I am currently a human biology major and I am tryig to transfer to ucsd to go into the medical field ob/gyn or even research. I really want to help out in my community especcially Latinas because sex and pregnancy is a taboo a lot of people judge or look down at a women for doig something that is part of our nature which is sex and I feel like many Latinas are not well educated in their sexual health . What stbds in my is time, I having a race against time and as we all know time never stops. I am in a rush to somewhat finish because I aant both of my prents to see me graduate and eventually buy them a house but is hard to keep up with all the smart kids out there I have to study like 60 hours a week to get one chapter.What is the most important of having a long life career is beig a role model for my sisters I want them to be better than me, and they deserve the best role model and also I lnow that it means a lot for my parents for me to be the firat one to stay in school and the reward of makig them happy means the world to me. In addition, I do it because I want to and I want to give back and inspire Latinas to go to school.
ReplyDeleteMy first choice of career was always majoring biology. But after taking a course biology I realized that biology wasn't my thing. It's not I didn't understand the material it was because I wasn't enjoying it. Therefore I didn't want to do something I don't enjoy. I did couple search after that and business was my second choose. I want to major human resources at the moment because The HR (Human Resources) industry has undergone a significant transformation and long gone are the days when it was thought to play little more than an administrative function within a business. A career in HR brings with it multiple opportunities for variety and career progression. If there's anything I could now I would love to finish all the requirement I have left. My dream is to get bachelor degree in the field of business than probably get a master degree after.
ReplyDeleteAs for me i'm majoring in Biology! and i really enjoy science in general, because it always been my passion. Doctors always impressed me and always been a model for me. I like to help people and give them a second chance to live that why I will become surgeon. I know is hard and difficult, but i believe in my self and so my family. I see my self getting a bachelor degree and master degree in the medical field. life long career is important to me, because that's what i planned to achieve long time ago and there is no way i'm going to give up. ReplyDeleteI've learned to aim high, and wish to attend the University of California, Berkeley in the fall of 2016 to earn an Electrical Engineering degree. Currently, I am working towards forming a relationship with a Senior Engineer at the company Raytheon. Thus, not only do I have goals in mind, I have been working incessantly to realize them. However, the journey does not end there. After that, I plan to acquire a PhD in Electrical Engineering which I would like to use in Aerospace applications. Ideally, I would like to one day work for NASA in the development of spacecraft technology and will apply to the astronaut program as soon as I am ready. I am willing to do so as many times as it is needed. I wish to be able to create and design technology using the instruments of the natural universe. Therefore, ultimately, my educational and career goals revolve around the same thing; Learning and applying for as long as I am able.
ReplyDeleteMy current career goals aren’t very set as of now, and well by that I mean I just don’t know what I want to major in yet. For sure I do know that I want to be able to get up every morning and look forward to another day at work by helping out individuals. Maybe I want to become some sort of doctor or nurse.I want to get my masters and make my parents so proud and my future children! Besides that if there is anything standing in my way, it might be any financial situations.
ReplyDeleteI am a Liberal Studies major and I want to an educator. I want to travel to third world countries and teach to children, I want to teach children with special needs and I want to teach in low income communities middle school math. I won't be wealthy, but it will make me happy. I want to make a difference in many children's lives. If I could do anything, I would provide food, shelter, health care and an education to the world.
ReplyDeleteI used to want to be an architect when I was in high school in Vietnam. When I came to the U.S, my first impression was the construction of buildings, bridges, schools,....They were so great!!! Later, after taking classes at SD City, I figured out that civil engineering is a good major for me because I like to learn math, physics and design things. My career goal is transfer to university to get the BA and become a civil engineer. The most important aspect of my life long career is whether my future career can have enough ability to take care of my parents. Everyday, I see them work very hard, so I promised myself, no matter how hard I work, I must give them a better life!
ReplyDeleteFor me personally I want everyone to be happy I want to impact the whole world. I don't care what it takes. My dream was to be an actor but now I want to be a Buisness manager so I can manage my own gym and have a kid section where I could help and motivate kids to live a positive life. Because most of our generation and the ones to come are miss lead by social media, idols, relives ion,news I want to spread the truth so that we can all achieve REAL HAPPINESS without needing money or jewelry or materialistic things that we are all adicted to. I can also help them live healthy lives by showing them how to stay physically fit and show the whole world who I am and why I'm here.
ReplyDeleteMy current career goals is to finish all of my classes that are require in San Diego City College and transfer to four years University to get my nursing and bachelor degree. Before attending any four years University I will work on my pilot license. These goal are so important to me to obtain them because I want to treat people well to feel better by given them the right prescription to take. I want to use my pilot skills to transfer medical, missionary men/ women, and pick up people who are in danger and take them quickly as possible to a safe place. The location will be any where where there is a war and it is my desire to help the need of other people. Finally I would like to take gospel to the whole as soon as possible to let every one hear the good new before it is too late for their life because without Jesus it cost a great tears, but with Him the joy and happiness come along.

Help mothers in this ( for my opinion) important and special moments , I want learn better English and help them in both languages spanis and English, I really want study medicine and Make my family proud and myself
Personally, I already put two goals in front of my path way and really tough and determination. I have goals short term goal and long term goal. My short term goal is get my associates degree and transfer to UCSD to get my bachelor degree then go to San Diego California Western School of Law. My long term goal is to be defender attorney and server for victim or innocent in the United State. Also I want to help Karen people who from refugee camp and run across the country for them. The reason I say that, because there are a thousand of Karen people from refugee settling in America. Most of them struggling with foreign language which is English and the laws of United States and law by territories local area. I want to be person who defense for them, represent and warrant.
ReplyDeleteSince I was little, I’ve dreamed to be a doctor and it’s never stopped. Currently, I am majoring in Biochemistry. I’ve been working very hard to obtain good grades in all my classes and I am hoping to attend University of California, San Diego for next fall 2016. Living through difficult circumstances in live, I’ve realized my most important aspect of life is to be able to help other people from suffering in diseases. I don’t know how far I can get in my education but I hope one day I can become a doctor. I will do everything just to make sure that I can reach my goal.
ReplyDeleteMy career goal is to go to law school and become a lawyer. I have always dreamt about keeping my country safe and exercising the law. I would also like to work for the United Nations as an ambassador or peace keeper. My hope is to be assigned in post war countries and work to prevent conflicts. I am very passionate about my major because of my experience with war while growing up. The war took so much from me and my country and I personally would not like any child to experience what I went through.
ReplyDeleteI am still not completely sure what my career goal is. I am majoring in Urban Studies with an emphasis on Public Policy. At first this was kind of something that got pushed into my lap but when I found out about Urban Planning and Public Policy programs I fell in love with it. It puts a name to what I hope to do. I would like to help with education reform and immigration. No matter what I do I want to give back to my community and this country that has given me so many opportunities. I feel as if my purpose in life is to spread the knowledge and inspiration people have taught me. Teaching high school students is also a passion of mine. Whatever I decide to do I hope I continue to meet wonderful people like you guys. I know we will all get far. I can see the dedication in all of us. :)

My career goal is to be able to transfer to Sonoma State. My major right now is human development however I'm not sure if that major is too broad. As to my career what I know for sure is that I want to help people. I would like to help children, teenagers, and young adults. I would like to do some type of counselling and teaching. I hope that I achieve more than one career in my life time. I'm not sure in what order I'd like to achieve my career goals but I know I want to do something that will help others.
